My Lord,

On this glorious occasion of your 70th Birthday, I join your family, friends, colleagues, and the entire legal family to celebrate a truly exceptional life.

70 years of grace, impact, and uncommon distinction!

You are a man of impeccable character, unquestionable integrity, great intelligence and rare sagacity. A jurist whose erudition on the Bench enriched our jurisprudence, and whose humility off the Bench endeared you to all.

To me, and to many, you have been much more than a Judge. You have been a great mentor and encourager, a great friend and confidant, and a good and kind leader. Your words of wisdom have steadied many young wigs, your encouragement has lifted many hearts, and your kindness has left indelible footprints.

You led with compassion, you judged with fairness, and you lived with honour. That is the true definition of a great man.

As you step into the glorious 8th decade, my prayer for you, My Lord, is:

May the heavens over your head be perpetually opened.
May the Lord cause you to soar to even greater heights.
May He preserve you in robust health, surround you with wealth, crown you with unending joy, and establish you in abundant prosperity.
May your new age be more peaceful, more joyful, and more fulfilling than all that has gone before.

Thank you for being a shining light. Thank you for your service to justice and humanity.
