Nigerian Law Society Congratulates Newly Appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria

Thr Nigerian Law Society (NLS)

12th October 2026

CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE!

THE NIGERIAN LAW SOCIETY CONGRATULATES THE NEWLY CONFERRED SENIOR ADVOCATES OF NIGERIA (SANs)!

The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) joins the entire legal community in celebrating excellence, dedication, integrity, and the relentless pursuit of justice, as distinguished members of our profession are conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

This remarkable achievement is a testament to years of hard work, professional commitment, outstanding service, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of the legal profession.

We particularly celebrate our own members of the Nigerian Law Society who have earned this well-deserved honour, and we congratulate every learned silk on this milestone.

Yet, as we celebrate, we must also remind ourselves that the silk is not merely a crown but a burden and a public trust, and so we charge the new silks to defend the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary even when it is inconvenient, to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and resist every temptation to debase the profession for profit or patronage, to mentor the younger generation and open doors that were opened to them, to be a voice for the voiceless and place their skills at the service of the weak and the oppressed, and to remember always that the respect the silk commands is earned not by the rank alone but by the character of the one who wears it. The profession is watching, history is watching, and the ordinary Nigerian who looks to the Bar for protection is watching.

Congratulations to all our distinguished Senior Advocates. May this prestigious recognition usher in greater accomplishments, continued excellence, and even more impactful contributions to the administration of justice in Nigeria.

We celebrate you, we honour your achievements, and we are proud of you, but we also charge you: do not wear the silk lightly.

Abdulqadir Alhaji Sani
Acting President, Nigerian Law Society (NLS)
