The window for the highly attractive registration fees for the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) 2026 Annual Conference will be shut tomorrow, September 30.
After tomorrow, the fees will shoot up significantly by as much as 50 percent for some category of potential conferees.
This has made it imperative for potential registrants to hurry and cash in on the highly discounted Early Bird rates before the Regular rates kick in on October 1, 2026.
It is recalled that registration for the early awaited conference kicked off during the NBA 2026 Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, with many lawyers having registered to attend the conference.
Aside from a strong backing by the Dr. Alex Otti-led Abia State Government, NBA President, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya SAN recently threw her weight behind the conference, assuring that she would personally attend the premium forum on public interest matters alongside a strong delegation from NBA HOUSE among other stakeholders.
The signature event will hold at the world-class International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Abia State from November 9 to November 13, 2026. The conference theme is "In the public interest: Advancing justice, democracy and development.”

According to a statement by NBA-SPIDEL Chair, Prof. Uju Agomoh and Chairman of the 2026 Annual Conference Planning Committee (CPC), Sir Ejike Ezenwa (SAN), “The conference will provide a matchless platform for stakeholders in the public interest, democracy, and development sectors to brainstorm on live issues that are both topical and germane to the growth of the polity.”
They assured that participants would have an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with leading legal practitioners, justices/judges, human rights activists, policymakers, and other stakeholders “while gaining deeper insights into the legal and institutional issues shaping Nigeria’s justice system, developmental and democratic ethos.”
Aside from a repertoire of live issues to be dissected by leading activists and stakeholders, the duo noted that delegates would have an opportunity to embark on a guided tour of some experiential tourist attractions in Abia State among other fun sideline events.
Meanwhile, the CPC Leadership has unveiled several help lines to assist registrants with any challenges encountered during registration. These include 0814-368-8011, 0806-308-8182, 0702-502-2123, 0803-791-0286, and 0803-050-2533. It urged registrants to reach out to any of the contacts to resolve any registration challenges.
