NBA OTA BRANCH HOLDS EXECUTIVE RETREAT/INDUCTION COURSE FOR NEWLY ELECTED BRANCH EXECUTIVES

The Nigerian Bar Association, Ota Branch, on Friday, 18 September 2026, held an Executive Retreat/Induction Course for the newly elected Branch Executives under the J.O. Ogunwale Administration (2026-2028).

The programme, held at Marrio Exclusive Resorts Hotel Suites & Bar, Ota, Ogun State, was designed to provide the new executives with the necessary orientation, institutional understanding and leadership capacity required for effective discharge of their respective responsibilities. The session was facilitated by *Mr. Olumide Adewale Adegoke, Esq.,* Senior Partner, First Zenith Law Firm and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ota Branch.

In an engaging and insightful session, the facilitator extensively examined the functions, roles, responsibilities and expectations attached to the various offices, while also addressing key issues relating to branch administration, leadership, professional ethics, teamwork, accountability, strategic planning and effective service.
He particularly emphasised the importance of peace, mutual respect, cooperation and unity among the executives, stressing that a cohesive leadership team is essential to the effective administration and continued development of the Branch.

He also encouraged the executives to build on the Branch's history, values and achievements, while working collectively to strengthen its institutions, enhance its impact and further consolidate the Ota Branch's position as a leading and highly respected Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association.

The retreat provided a valuable platform for reflection, interaction and the exchange of ideas, while giving the executives a clearer appreciation of the demands and expectations of their respective offices as they commence their tenure.

The Branch expresses its profound appreciation to Mr. Olumide Adewale Adegoke, Esq. for graciously accepting to facilitate the programme and for sharing his wealth of experience, knowledge and institutional insight with the new leadership.

As a former Chairman of the Ota Branch and a proud member of the Ota Bar, his contribution to the programme was particularly significant. His willingness to mentor, guide and share the benefit of his experience with the incoming leadership is a commendable demonstration of service, continuity, mentorship and commitment to the growth of the Branch. We thank him for his time, candour, guidance and invaluable contribution to what was a highly educative and impactful session.

The Branch looks forward to a tenure characterised by purposeful leadership, cooperation, professional excellence, institutional strengthening and continued progress, with every executive contributing meaningfully to the collective advancement of the Ota Bar.

Signed:
V.O. OGUNSEYE, ESQ.
