One year after-- Benin Consultative Forum (BCF) remembers pioneer President late Solomon Arase

...says ‘he lives on in our hearts’

BENIN CITY-- The Benin Consultative Forum (BCF) has commemorated the first anniversary of the death of its pioneer President, Dr Solomon Ehigiator Arase, CFR, describing him as a visionary leader whose legacy of service, unity and humanism continues to inspire the organisation.

In a statement marking the anniversary, the forum said Arase, a former Inspector-General of Police, devoted his life to promoting a safer, more just and egalitarian society, particularly in Edo State and Nigeria.

The BCF described the late police chief as a trailblazer who united people, celebrated Benin heritage and championed the advancement of the Benin people and the country at large.

“Although you are no longer with us in the physical sense, your enduring legacy, profound values and endearing blueprints in humanism and uncommon service continue to guide our pathway forward,” the organisation said.

According to the forum, Arase had, before his sudden demise, expressed a strong desire to contribute to the creation of a safer society where all Nigerians could thrive.

The BCF said his commitment to humanity extended beyond his professional career, noting that he served mankind with “uncommon dedication, heart and compassion.”

TRIPLENET reports that the late Arase was also a member of the Body of Benchers and played a leading role in the development of the BCF as its pioneer President.

Following his death, his Vice-President assumed the position of Acting President of the organisation.

TRIPLENET reports that the Benin Consultative Forum is a socio-cultural organisation established to promote the advancement, unity and development of the Benin people as well as contribute to the progress of Nigeria.

As the forum marked one year since Arase’s passing, it prayed for the continued repose of his soul and extended its sympathy, love and solidarity to his family.

The BCF said the memory of the late former Inspector-General of Police would remain cherished, adding that his contributions to society would continue to inspire generations to come.
