AGCPC Chairman Welcomes Comferees to Beyond Limits, a Conference designed for seamless experience
On behalf of the Annual General Conference Planning Committee, it is my singular honour to welcome you to the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association.
This year's theme, Beyond Limits, is both an invitation and a challenge. It asks us, as a profession, to move past the boundaries that have long defined our practice — beyond the courtroom, beyond convention, and beyond the comfortable certainties of yesterday — to imagine what Nigerian law can become when we dare to reach further.
Over eight remarkable days in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, we will bring together the Bench, the Bar, government, industry experts, and civil society for a programme that spans the issues shaping our nation and our profession: from artificial intelligence in legal practice and the future of policing, to tax reform, arbitration, energy, and the rights of the most vulnerable among us.
We are honoured to be joined by leaders in government, the judiciary, and industry experts from across Nigeria and beyond, alongside distinguished partners including the University of Sydney.
None of this would be possible without the tireless work of the Planning Committee, our host Branch, our sponsors and partners, and the thousands of members who make this conference the largest gathering of lawyers on the African continent.
I invite you to engage fully — in the plenaries and the breakout rooms, at the cultural night and the football pitch, in the quiet conversations between sessions where so much of the real work of our profession gets done. Let us go, together, beyond limits.
Abdul Mohammed, SAN
Chairman, NBA-AGC 2026 Planning Committee
