THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE EDO STATE COMMAND AND HIS MANAGEMENT TEAM PAID A COURTESY VISIT TO THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION, BENIN BRANCH.

The Hon. Justice Constance Momoh Hall of the Nigerian Bar Association ("NBA"), Benin Branch, today played host to the Commissioner of Police ("CP"), who came calling, with his management team, on a courtesy visit.

Immediately preceding the meeting, there was a formal introduction of the Commissioner of Police with his towering and intimidating resume to the Executive and Members of The Nigerian Bar Association, BENIN BRANCH.

In the same vein, the Publicity Secretary of the NBA, Benin Branch Mr. Ogaga Emoghwanre, introduced members of the Executive as well as other distinguished members of the Bar who graced the ceremony.

It was what can be likened as a return leg match on the 9th of March, 2021, when the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, C. P. Phillip A. Ogbadu paid a courtesy visit to the Executive and Members of the Nigerian Bar Association at the Constance Momoh Exquisite Hall of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, Bar House.

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, C. P. Phillip A. Ogbadu poured unprecedented encomiums on the oceanic achievements of The Nigerian Bar Association in the last Six Months. He further stated that, in his little teeny-weeny period of piloting the affairs of The Nigerian Police Force, Edo State Police Command, there has not been any form of confrontation between the Police Force and The Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch. The CP, spoke sadly about the moribund night life activities of Edo State, while, suggesting that he will do his best In reviving the night life in Edo State.

He went on to promise to provide security to Pharmaceutical establishments, Shopping Malls, Entertainment centers and Supermarkets that are ready to operate at night, and provide same security to their customers on their way home after shopping.

He went ahead to state that he is talking with his Excellency, The Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to ensure that the curfew, If needed in Edo state at all, should commence from 12 Midnight to 6am.

When the meeting turned to the Bar, the chairman, Mr. Pius Oiwoh responded positively and alluded to all the CP said, while thanking the CP for all his achievements in Edo, in such a short while.

The Chairman, Mr. Pius Oiwoh then frowned seriously on the uncanny protocol of instructing lawyers whom are the people's vanguard to drop their cell phones before entering the State CID section of the Edo State Police Command.

The C.P. in his response, immediately instructed the DC, State CID to always allow lawyers into the section, with their gadgets as provided by the ACJL in attending to their clients

The high point of the event was the presentation of the NBA Lion Bar Diaries to the CP and his management team. It was a momemt of conviviality and camaraderie, as the hall was charged with laughter and cheering.

The Secretary of the branch Mr. Andrew Lawani ended the meeting with a well nourished vote of thanks to the C.P, Edo State Command.
