OFFICIAL ADDRESS OF THE NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE YOUNG LAWYERS FORUM OF THE NBA BENIN BRANCH (THE LION BRANCH)

Dear Friends and Distinguished Colleagues,

Mahatma Gandhi is quoted to have said that "the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service of others."

It is with the above quote and also with great pleasure that we, the newly appointed Executive members (Exco) of the Young Lawyers Forum (YLF) of the NBA, Benin Branch hereby accept our appointments to serve the Young Lawyers and our noble Bar.

We sincerely thank the new NBA Benin Branch Executive ably lead by the Chairman, Mr. Pius Idemudia Oiwoh, for finding us worthy and giving us this opportunity to serve. Assuredly, we will justify the confidence reposed in us.

We thank the Caretaker Committee of the YLF for keeping the Forum on an even keel and diligently directing her affairs in the interim. May we also appreciate the past YLF Excos led by Mr. Jude Osasere Ogbeide for their sincere service to the YLF and for setting a standard of excellence.

We make bold to say that there is need to sustain and consolidate on the esteemed deeds and legacies of our heroes past. Thus, we shall strive to set our standards above and beyond what is required and consistently deliver results that will surpass expectations.

We strongly believe that as Young Lawyers of this prestigious and vibrant Bar, there is an umbilical cord that connects us together. Hence, we must continue to work towards uniting ourselves and furthering the interest and cause of the YLF because our relevance to the development of the Bar is beyond contest. As a point of note, we the new YLF Exco shall, within the ambit of our authority, strive to always promote the welfare and core interests of our members which are paramount and none negotiable.

We therefore assure the YLF and the Branch of our utmost dedication to duty. We equally enjoin all Young lawyers to ensure that all hands are on deck, in furthering the cause of the YLF under our leadership as well as promoting the interest and good image of the NBA, Benin Bar. The dust is settled and the mandate is clear, thus we trust that you will give us the understanding and support to ensure that we get our priorities correct and impact the Bar positively.


Thank you all and may God keep us all alive by His grace to take the YLF to her expected destination.
