WE ARE IGBO

We are the colours of a thousand festivals,
We are the aroma of hundreds of cuisines,
We are the pride that history distills,
We are Igbo carved from ancestral will.

WE ARE IGBO

We are the first among the best,
We stand out from among the rest,
They call us Odogwu,
It is not a guy name,
It is base on doings,
An Igbo man will take you to the moon,
Our spouses are called _Achalugo , blessing our lives,
For we match romance with finance,
Finance with out romance will make you wise,
But, romance without finance will leave your mind ,
Empty as a market stall at night,
Searching for fire where there is no light.

We wear Isiagu with the symbol of lion,
Because we hunt like lions for fresh meat,
We do not eat the crumbs that fall from the table,
When you ask our females what do you bring to the table,
You know what? They are the table,
Laid with wisdom, poise, elegance, grace, and standards unshakeable.

We wear clothes emblazoned with lions
Because we serve the Lion of the Tribe of Judah,
From Umuahia to Zion, our praise won’t smother,
We kneel to no man, but we bow to the heavenly Father.

We are unique,
we are special,
We are strong, we are profound,
We are your key to trade,
We are the vibrant tribe,
We bring things to life,
From Onitsha markets to global light.

Our wives love us more than they love Five Alive,
Because our love is not audio,
it’s seen in six figured transaction alerts ,
We follow what is right,
We are pillars of commerce,
We are your dependable friends,
Through famine, through flood, we still make amends.

We are the tribe that have always survived
The vestiges of strife,
Civil war scars, but we revived,
From ashes of the civil war to boardrooms worldwide.

We are the flavour of your soup,
Ofe nsala, oha, egusi we recoup,
We do not gladly suffer fools,
We make your exquisite shoes,
And imprint our footprints on sand of time with our shoes,
From _Aba_ to Milan, we set the rules.
Do not take us for a fool,
Because it will not be good,
When the lion you mocked wakes up in the wood.

We are loyal under the sun and the moon,
In August meeting or in harmattan’s noon,
We are the lost tribe of israel,
Found the vibrance of Nigerian Rythmn,
Oriental music that makes the muse blush,
We are the owners of the palatial mansion that are posh,
A people where every one king,
King of his kith and kin ,
We are indefatigable,
We are indomitable,
We are unforgettable,
We are intelligible,
We are unstoppable,
We are unshakable,
We are the echo in Ikoro drums,
We are the reason the ogene hums,

We are Igbo.
From Chukwu Okike Abiama, we came,
And to His glory we bear the name.
