to honour our father, our king, our divine heritage,
His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin.

Your Majesty, your throne stands not merely upon earth,
but upon centuries of faith, valor, and divine covenant.
Your reign continues to write the story of peace, wisdom, and restoration,

Under your reign, the ancient pride of our people has found new breath.

and your devotion to the gods of our fathers.

The Benin Writers Society sees in you the poetry of our land
each gesture of yours is a verse,

each smile a symbol of divine order.
Your voice carries the rhythm of our ancestors,
